Next generation gaming consoles such as Sony’s new Playstation and Xbox’s Project Scarlett are going to be fueled by AMD. Sony made their announcement over interviews, while Microsoft disclosed their implementation of AMD technology – such as a custom Zen2 CPU and Navi graphics – at the Xbox E3 2019 presentation.
AMD is set to hold their own E3 event to reveal the “next generation of AMD gaming products”. AMD made a fairly bold statement saying that they’ll be providing information about their tech that’s anticipated to “power gaming from PC to console to cloud for years to come”. The presentation will be led by Geoff Keighley, the creator of The Game Awards. According to AMD, front running game makers will be delivering exclusive sneak previews into several popular games that are supposed to be released this year.
Next Horizon Gaming
AMD Next Horizon Gaming is set to stream on AMD’s YouTube channel as well as their Facebook page on the 11th of June at 3:30am Indian Standard Time. The tech company’s collaboration with Sony and Microsoft may have already been declared, however, AMD might also offer more on the use of Zen2 and Navi in next-gen gaming consoles.
Computex 2019 had AMD unveiling their third generation of Ryzen computers such as the Ryzen 7 3700X with eight cores, the Ryzen 3800X, and the Ryzen 9 3900X with 12 cores and 24 threads. AMD also shared details about their new Navi GPU that is founded on Ryzen DNA graphics technology.
What else can we expect?
Seeing as AMD called on game makers to attend at the keynote, their is a chance we could witness some AMD fueled games running on future AMD hardware. This would be a first for AMD to broadcast real-world gaming presentations of their newest products prior to their release.
