Vermont’s first Cambria Hotel is set to be established by 2021 according to Choice Hotels International Inc.’s arrangement with Hospitality Funding Inc. and TQP Capital Partners. The hotel will be at 266 College Street, one of the busiest sections in the city. It’s located near the University of Vermont, the University of Vermont Medical Center, Champlain College, and the Church Street Marketplace.
“The Cambria Hotels brand excels at delivering a best-in-class experience, and developers notice its enduring success,” according to Choice Hotels’s Vice President for franchise development, Mark Shalala. “We are thrilled to bring the first Cambria to the Green Mountain State. Burlington, a vibrant college town with a rich history, is the perfect place to start.”
The hotel is created with travelers in mind who don’t have the time or the modern comforts to engage with people. The hotel will have its own gym, a rooftop restaurant and bar with a stunning scene of the sun setting over Lake Champlain, a tech savvy meeting venue, top of the line bathrooms with bluetooth enabled mirrors, and high class guestrooms.
CEO and Chairman at Hospitality Funding, Scott Silver, says, “Choice Hotels’ experience in cultivating developer relationships and the resources they provide helped lay the groundwork for our agreement. My roots in Vermont and Burlington, as well as collaboration with the Greater Burlington YMCA, give me great insight into the sense of community here. The unique blend of a bustling metropolis and the coziness of a tucked-away town sealed the deal for the development of this Cambria Hotel.”
Principal of TQP Capital, Thomas Prins, said, “Our Cambria will have the first and only rooftop restaurant in Burlington”.
The hotel will be run by a hotel management firm situated in Schaumburg, Illinois, Hostmark Hospitality, which has over half a century of resort and hotel management experience.
