Copa America: Venezuela gets lucky as VAR rejects three Brazil goals

Venezuela escapes: VAR rejects three Brazil goals

Thanks to the VAR, Venezuela got a point in the duel with Brazil in the Copa América. The video guide rejected three goals from the host country, making it 0-0.

Brazil thought it was 1-0 just before half-time but was called back due to a foul. After an hour, Gabriel Jesus saw a goal rejected because Firmino had been sidelined. Philippe Coutinho seemed to provide relief in the final phase, but this time a handball from Firmino stood in the way of the winning goal.

Ajax player David Neres was again in the starting line-up for Brazil. He was substituted for Fernandinho in the 72nd minute.

In Group A, Brazil and Peru are now on top with four points from two games. Peru won 3-1 against Bolivia by goals from José Paolo Guerrero, Jefferson Farfan and Edinson Flores.
