Kim Kardashian is under fire after visiting Kevin Cooper, who is convicted of murder, to lobby for a new DNA test in his case.

Among others, the mother of one of the victims has responded, reports TMZ.

In recent months, Kardashian has worked for prisoners serving a life sentence for relatively minor offenses.

For example, she spoke with President Donald Trump about the case of Alice Johnson, who was also released by Kardashian’s commitment after being detained for 22 years for drug-related offenses.

She recently visited Cooper, who was convicted of the murder of his neighbors, their daughter, and the 11-year-old boy who was staying with them.

Cooper has always denied being the murderer.

Kardashian hopes that the governor of California, Gavin Newsome, will ensure that a new DNA test is introduced in the case.

Kardashian campaign makes mother of victim ‘sick’

Mary Ann Hughes, the mother of the eleven-year-old victim, is shocked by Kardashian’s action.

She tells TMZ that Kardashian is used by Cooper.

“It makes me feel sick to my stomach and I pity her. For what she’s doing to us, there’s nothing to justify what she’s doing to us, the immense pain she is causing us,” Hughes said.

“(She) obviously has not read all of the actual evidence — she has bought into half-truths perpetrated by the defence. If she actually sat down and read the transcripts of all the trials and appeals, she would be sick to her stomach to be in the same room with him”, says the mother, who does not doubt Cooper’s fault.

“Cooper’s lawyers using her for her reality show status because they can’t use the truth to try to help Kevin Cooper. The truth just condemns him” she concludes.

Kardashian herself has not yet responded to the criticism.

I had an emotional meeting with Kevin Cooper yesterday at San Quentin’s death row. I found him to be thoughtful and honest and I believe he is innocent of the crimes for which he was convicted.
